From Santa Cruz, California, Animal Super Species has recently released their first full length album "Yearbook," a fresh anthology of dance rock anthems. Constantly teetering between sexy dance grooves and ferocious rock riffing, their sound brings back '90s grunge and simultaneously invokes nostalgic premonitions of the future.
An 831 native himself, Michael Glines has just released his debut solo album 'let yourself' and is perhaps a little too excited to bring these hot new grooves to the stage. Out of the interstices between soul and indie shoegaze, his band Sugarsauce will pull you into your dancing shoes, your bad habits, or both. Expect to laugh, cry, dance, fall in love and get your heart broken all at once.
The Honeypot, a '70s style rock quintet indigenous to Santa Cruz County takes the class out of classic rock, stomps on it, sets it on fire, and delicately eases it back in back into the music. They've got everything from catchy rock & roll hooks to long epic guitar solos. They've also got a bad case of blues, but they're happy to share any experience with any soul-searching crowd.
