Punk Cabaret
Berlin
The Kamikaze Queens are Berlin Punk Cabaret! Inspired by the mayhem of 1920's Berlin and the city's infamous hedonism that lives on today, they've created a sexy, theatrical live performance that's uniquely their own.
Musically their style ranges from early punk rock and soulful garage to dirty jazz and punkabilly, smothered in reverb, topped off with Spooky Waltzes, and served up with burlesque and cabaret.
Fronted by two dazzling American female singers, Trinity Sarratt and Mad Kate take turns at being sweet & sour, dancing, kicking, and playing percussion, together with one of Germany's hottest Guitar Players, Tex Morton, Acrobatic Upright Bass Player "Luscious Lloyd" Clark from Upstate New York, and Nico "Lipps" Lippolis from Bella Italia on Drums, the Kamikaze Queens live experience is "like a suicide pilot dive- bombing your Rock'n'Roll senses" ... and pushing up daisies.
Since 2006,they have toured all over Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Sweden, and the USA at SXSW 2009. From Punk Clubs to Theaters, Psycho Shows to Heavy Metal Festivals, to the Tiniest Bar in Texas, the Kamikaze Queens conquer and titillate any and every situation with their unique and one of a kind ensemble, made in Berlin.

Midilove is a composer & producer from San Francisco. Beginning in 1998 with a Roland 808 sampler, he began his experimentation in recording and production, which has produced various projects and collaborations of different styles and emphasis over the past decade. Much of that focus was concentrated on the fusing of “electronic” & “synthetically” generated sounds and instruments with live instrumentation. After spending the last five years in bands, it was time for a solo project. The debut of the full length “Deus Ex Machina” and Midilove is the result after eight months of studio work.
The concept of Midilove started with an infatuation with the technology of MIDI and the possibilities it generates. A “Deus Ex Machina” (Latin: “god out of the machine”) is a plot device whereby a seemingly inextricable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object. With the exceptions of a very few guitar, woodwind, drum, and vocal tracks, “Deus Ex Machina” is exclusively MIDI instrumentation.
A typical criticism of “electronic” music in the music world today is its’ presupposed lack of “soul” or emotive feeling that is arguably more present and evident in “live” music. An essential component in the concept of Midilove is the desire and intention to bring that emotive presence into the digital spectrum.
Currently, with the release of “Deus Ex Machina”, Midilove is looking to begin performing the material accompanied by a live drummer in addition to some live instrumentation. The songs “Falling Up” & “Dirty Halo” on “Deus Ex Machina” are a collaborative effort between Midilove & Shox, a talented vocalist/musician out of Brooklyn. They are currently working on an electro-pop, dance EP that they expect to release early in the fall 2011 under the name MidiloveShox. Midilove is also working on another instrumental EP for the IDM, breaks & dub-step crowd to be released around the same time. Stay tuned…

San Louis Obispo
Formed in Fall of 2010 when two dudes working a shitty job realized they both had similar musical interests. One happened to play guitar, and the other had been jamming regularly with a drummer friend. Eventually the three met together to play and thus Bloodmoon was ushered into the world, such as a miraculous virgin birth.

Thirty9FingerS is an aggressive and unique sounding, high energy heavy metal band, with a fun-loving attitude and relentlessly intense drive. We have a passion for music that unites us, and a desire to be a positive outlet for metal heads and music lovers, which sets us apart from the rest of the metal scene. Our influences are widely varied, giving us a unique sound, and our story is one of triumph over tragedy, which gives us our unique name. All members of this band hail from different parts of the USA, but when we came together the chemistry was undeniable. Thirty9FingerS is here to spread our energy throughout the world in it's purest form...MUSIC! Hope you enjoy.

The name APE MACHINE is a nod to the days of reel-to-reel magnetic tape audio recording; a fitting moniker for the heavy-hitting quartet as the band plays through vintage tube amplifiers and lays down its songs using exclusively throwback quality studio equipment. With a heady mix of animal aggression and technical precision, APE MACHINE's music carries an organic depth and warmth rarely heard since the time of rock's glorious early years (or your Dad's bad ass record collection) infused with an exceptional modern sensibility. When the mystical lyrics of vocalist Caleb Heinze lock in with the band's stone-cold groove, APE MACHINE demonstrates an earth-shaking ability to rock. A true four-piece, the group has been called "a rock and roll band with a finger on the pulse of the 70's and their asses firmly in the present" and "real heavy-psych for the iPhone generation" that delivers "true guts and glory rock and roll."
Blending equal parts Rock n’ Roll, Blues, Stoner Rock and Psychedelia, Ape Machine is out to melt faces and pound the apathy out of otherwise jaded listeners with a wall of heavy rock n’ roll tones unheard since the days of bell bottoms, long hair and blaring tube amplifiers.
Ape Machine's mission is to combine intense melody, cutting riffs and blistering live improvisation. Where many bands rely on meticulously rehearsed, just-like-the-record-parts, Ape Machine provides a live experience that is as unique as each evening it shares with an audience.
Cosmic Post~Metal Funk
Santa Cruz
From Santa Cruz, California, there exists a progressive, all instrumental band dedicated to euphoric musical formulations. With Nate Fielding on bass, Keyhan Moini on drums, and Michael Rubino on guitar, the trio combines their metal and funk influences, resulting in a renovation of conventional sounds that has led to the conception of the musical genre of prog-metal funk and the creation of a bold new musical force; Silly Creature.

Whiskey Wednesday w/ Ghost Of Wrights, Electric Jellyfish, Teeth & Tongue, & Hawk Jones @ The Blue Lagoon Wednesday March 7th
In the 1880’s a railroad was completed that traversed the Santa Cruz Mountains. This was accomplished with the construction of a small number of tunnels that connected the small towns and communities that dotted the countryside between the Santa Clara Valley and Santa Cruz. One of these communities was the train depot of Wrights Station.
The railroad was shut down in the 1940’s with the entrances to the tunnels blown up. As a result these small communities dwindled and disappeared becoming ghost towns. Although little remains today but crumbling stone and overgrown foundations, the souls of these towns and tunnels linger on to this day… We are The Ghost of Wrights.
Experimental / Post Punk / Psychedelic
Melbourne, Australia
Electric Jellyfish are a 3-piece collaboration from Melbourne, Australia consisting of Michael Beach (guitars and vocals), Adam Camilleri (bass and percussion) and Peter Warden (drums, loops and electronics). The band has extensively toured both Australia and the United States of America since 2007. Their 2008 EP The Woods was recorded entirely analogue by Head Gap studios in Melbourne, Australia, and pressed to cassette by American label Ecstatic Yod.
Teeth & Tongue is Jess Cornelius, plus long time collaborator Marc Regueiro-Mckelvie and Damian Sullivan. With a combination of hypnotic 505 drum-machine beats and slow, bent-out-of-shape guitar lines, the songs weave themselves throughout heartbreak and simmering discontent.
Teeth & Tongue's second album, Tambourine, came out in April 2011 though Dot Dash/Remote Control, earning RRR album of the week and rave reviews across Australia.
Her debut record Monobasic received critical acclaim from Australian media, including rotation airplay on triple j and FBi, ‘album of the week’ on Radio Adelaide, and stellar reviews in Rolling Stone Magazine, jmag, Who Weekly and Yen Magazine.
Teeth and Tongue has gone on to perform at the
2009 Falls Festival in Lorne, Australia; the
2010 Laneway Festival in Melbourne, Australia; and has shared the stage with the likes of The Dodos (USA), Juana Molina (Argentina), Grant Hart of Husker Du (USA), The Mountain Goats (USA), THE Duke Spirit, (UK), Bachelorette (NZ) and The Drones.

What the press have to say about Teeth and Tongue:
"...one of most damn listenable records released this year." Mess & Noise Magazine
"There are names often invoked for an artist in this line Patti Smith, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey and Cornelius manages to be a beguiling combination of all three."
‐ Rolling Stone Magazine
"...Cornelius's songs are strange, intriguing beasts; "Stacey Come Over is one of a few that sound like good postpunk such as Public Image or Magazine... It's very good. "
‐ Chris Johnston, The Age (Melbourne) Magazine.
"Jess Cornelius' sassy solo debut (as Teeth & Tongue) is a soulful, lofi work of genuine intrigue."
Dan Rule, Music Australia Guide
"Beautifully raw and affecting, Jess Cornelius's voice makes you sit up and take notice..." –
mX Magazine
"...Completely captivating"
‐ Three Thousand
"Lowfi, raw and from the heart ... this solo debut is a testament that some things do happen for the better."
Jmag
* * * * "A raw, idiosyncratic debut..."
‐ Who Magazine
"...Dark, foreboding ballads with a galloping rhythm section and chiming guitar. Unsettling, but beautiful."
Yen Magazine
"It's hard to decide what I like best about San Jose's Hawk Jones. At first listen, I really liked the unusual, hyper-finger-tapping guitar parts and sporadic burst of keyboards. They both seemed like such atypical approaches to playing rock and roll. Add in the fast tempos and intensely energetic drumming, and there's no doubt this band rocks. Then there are the occasional moments of atmospheric noise that contrast so well with the otherwise relentless energy. These guys have a good thing going."

The Box 2.26.12 - LIVE SHOW feat. Demodulate, Citizen 16 & Afekt @ The Blue Lagoon Sunday February 26th

Citizen 16
After his involvement with several other bands of varying genres, in early 2010, Wolf Neve felt that it was time to begin his own project; he wanted to create something that felt right, something with a purpose, an outlet in which his soul could truly speak. After hours upon hours of heartfelt experimentation, the Citizen 16 (C16) project was finally born. Today, Citizen 16 is made up of three key members; Wolf Neve, Kitty Nyu, and Misty Rose. While Wolf Neve is the definite brains behind everything that is C16, both Kitty Nyu and Misty Rose also play their parts to keep the band going strong. Together, they hope and strive for the betterment of society as a whole- be it flesh or machine, through song, and through action. Our Mission: Believing that society’s evolution has fallen into a downward spiral, both intellectually and fundamentally, Citizen 16 rises from the ashes of social dissension to unite the lowest of the oppressed. Faced with an epidemic of apathy, complacency and tyrannical corruption above, a hero must rise to confront those who would stave off those who would exploit the decaying reliance of a failed society. Not just one hero must emerge, but several. Citizens of an oppressed society must ascend past the bonds of the human condition that hold them back and embrace the only hope for the lowest class; the future of the sufferer relies on the willingness to discard the “natural” for the “supernatural” – to recognize that left to its own devices, society will continue not in evolution, but devolution into a state of perpetual poverty. The only hope for mankind to overcome the stigma of the social exile within society derives from the willingness of the masses to fight, not for what little they have, but to prove that they are not defined by what they do not. In its current course, the world is left not to God, but to those who would steer the course of evolution to their own interests. The evil of the world lies not with those who would enhance themselves, but with those who would amputate the only hope a suffering people have to survive. Now is the time to rise above those who would control you through the cross and words, money and bureaucracy. Now is the time to take arms, take aim and take heart. Now is the time to embrace these weapons that remain the only hope for those who are manipulated by the status quo, for without it, mankind stands to destroy itself. Now is the time to become a Citizen, and fight for the fundamental human right to dignity, development and freedom. Do YOU have what it takes to be a Citizen?
